APPLICATION FOR YOUNG ACADEMIC SCHEME (TAM)

  1. I would like to apply for the TAM Scheme at UPM. How do I apply for a TAM Scheme?

    You can download the TAM Scheme Application Form on the Web site: https://pendaftar.upm.edu.my/?L=en and forward the completed form to the Study Leave Section of Registrar Office, UPM for the attention of Mrs Nur Fadzilah Mohd Mokhtar.

     

  2. What are the conditions of eligibility to apply for TAM Scheme?

    The main requirement for the TAM Scheme is CGPA 3.00 (Bachelor). Priority are given to the field that is critical and depends on the needs of the faculty.

     

  3. How long do I have to wait to find out the results of the TAM Scheme application?

    The results of the TAM Scheme will be notified by letter or email within 3 months from the date Study Leave Section receives the your application.

     

  4. I have contacted the faculty and they informed me that my TAM Scheme applications were supported. When will I be called for an interview?

    Supported candidates need to sit for an exam of Casim II (Psychometric Test) before being called to the interview. After the receiving the test results, passed candidates will be called for interviews. The 3-month duration are from the Study Leave Section receives full documents from the faculty.

     

  5. If I am offered a TAM Scheme, will I receive any payment?

    Yes, candidates who have been offered TAM will receive monthly remuneration of RM2,500 per month (Master) or RM3,000 (Ph.D)

     

  6. When will the Remuneration payment be paid to the TAM Scheme Receiver?

    Monthly Allowance will be paid after the TAM registered as a student at the University of study in accordance with the approved program or by the date of acknowledgment of receipt of the offer participation TAM Scheme (whichever is later). 

    (You need to submit your student registration form as proof of confirmation of your studies registration application to UPM to enable monthly payment to be paid)

     

  7. What do I need to do after getting a TAM Scheme offer?

    TAM must submit all Study Leave Application documents and supporting documents not later than 6 months from the date of receiving of the TAM Scheme.
