LEAVE AND RETIREMENT

Introduction

Section of Service Confirmation, Leave and Retirement is an integral part of the structure of the Human Resources Division, Office of the Registrar and is responsible for planning, managing and monitoring all activities related to Confirmation of Service, Leaves and Retirement of all staff at Universiti Putra Malaysia Serdang campus and covering Bintulu Campus.

Annual leave entitlement of an officer of the year is by Grade/Category and years of service as follows:

Not Exactly A Year Leave Service 


Given according to length of service which qualifed only measured close to half a day, which is above the rate of one-twelfth of the annual rate for each completed month of service to qualify for any services that uneven a month

Contract Staff Leave Entitlement 

 
Contract officers qualified to get leave as follow terms in their contract. If not mentioned anything about the leave provisions in the contract, they may be granted leave in accordance with the extension of leave to contract officers based on PP No 2 year 2008/Policy Contract of Service and Appointment and PP No 17 Year 2008/Gratuity Cash.

 


CONFIRMATION OF SERVICE

 Requirements For Confirmation Of Service

1.

Meet the trial period of one to three years;

2.

Successfully attended the induction course and pass all the examinations prescribed services; and

3.

Recommended by the Head of Department

 Who Is Qualified?

 -

The officer appointed to the reqular service; and

 -

Officials appointed through Promotion by appointment.

Probation Period

The officer appointed to a regular service to go through a probationary period of 1 to 3 years.

 Unable to confirm in service due to:

1.

Unsatisfactory work performance;

2.

Discipline problems;

3.

Relationships within the organization
(Head of the Department reserves the right not recommend confirmation of service of an officer)

 Consequences Of Failure To Get Confirmation Of Service?

- Extension of the probationary period;

- With the penalty (delay increment)

- With no penalty (without delay increment)

 Impact Extension With Penalty Trial

1.

Not qualified for any annual salary movement during the period of the extension of the penalty;

2.

Loss of seniority for a period equal to the period of the extension; and

3.

Modification date of salary as of the date of his/her confirmation


RETIREMENT

 Type Of Retirement


1. Forced Retirement (Pension Optional) Under Section 10 of Act 227/239

2. Retirement Option Under Section 12 of the Act 227/239

3. Pension under Seection 14 of the Pensions Act 1980 (Act 227) and Section 15 of the Statutory Act 1980 (Act 239)

4. Retirement For Health Reasons

Members pensionable retirement or are required to retire from government service eligible for retirement benefits as follows:


1. Pension Service (Monthly Payment);

2. Remuneration Service (Lumpsum); and

3. Cash Award Leave Replacement, where applicable (Lumpsum)

Rate and pension paid depends on the length of service to be considered and the final monthly basic salary received by the member. Actual rate calculation is as follows:


 

Ganjaran
7.5% x period of reckonable service x final monthly basic salary received

 

Pensions

-

1/600 x period of reckonable service x final monthly basic salary received;

-

Subject to a maximum pension of three-fifths (3/5) of the final salary (achieved when serving for 30 years or 360 months of service are taken into account);
